Students must have gained 12 credits in NCEA level two English standards including at least one literary (visual, extend or short text) external standard.

• improve reading, writing and speaking skills
• present ideas in written and oral formats

(17 core credits offered: Level 2, up to 12 credits: Level 3, up to 21)
Focus is on studetns gaining UE literacy. Students are offered level 3 credits in skill areas where they have demonstrated a level 2 capability.
