Course Book Info

 The focus is on the well-being of the students themselves, of other people, and of society through learning in health-related and movement contexts.  In Health, students develop their understanding of the factors that influence the health of individuals, groups and society.  In Physical Education, the focus is on movement and its contribution to the development of individuals and communities.

Year 9 and 10 Health and Physical Education    9HPE/10HPE  (two semesters)

The focus of this compulsory course is to develop resilience, positive attitudes and relationships and healthy choices towards physical activity.

 

You will learn to:

·         use interpersonal skills to enhance relationships

·         understand the importance of social responsibility

·         cope with change

·         about sexuality education

·         participate in a variety of physical activities  

Contexts include team games, invasion games, striking and fielding games, net games, dance, self-defence, circus, gymnastics, swimming, te ao kori and fitness related activities.
